EETT Round 4 Technology Integration Coaching Program

The Technology Integration Coaching Academy is a four-day program providing instruction to site-based integration coaches in leadership skills to allow them to support teachers at their site in utilizing technology effectively in support of the standards-based curriculum. Topics include building communication skills, mentoring and modeling processes, change process, reflective coaching, and effective integration of technology.

Coaching Program outcomes:

  • Coaches will support participant teachers as they increase their integration of technology
  • Coaches will model technology integration strategies and lessons for participant teachers
  • Coaches will facilitate professional collaborative conversations at the site about effective practices to support student achievement
  • Coaches will increase in their leadership and communication skills as measured by the leadership self assessment
  • Coaches will take part in a district-wide professional learning community focused on supporting the needs of participant teachers
  • Coaches will collect and analyze data as required by the grant program

Day 1

Outcomes:

  • Coaches will develop a common understanding of the goals and outcomes of their grant
  • Coaches will practice building rapport using paraphrasing skills and wait time
  • Coaches will develop an understanding of their own learning and communication styles and preferences

  • Coaches will practice paraphrasing skills
  • Coaches will practice asking probing questions for clarity, specificity, and elaboration
  • Coaches will identify district and site practices that support meeting EETT-C goals and outcomes

Day 3

Outcomes:

  • Coaches will be able to apply effective communication skills to facilitate professional learning community conversations at their site.
  • Coaches will plan high-level conversations about best practices.
  • Coaches will expand their understanding of various learning styles, and develop strategies for better communication with each style.

Outcomes:

  • Coaches will paraphrase for emotion as well as content
  • Coaches will use paraphrasing and questioning skills to redirect conversations
  • Coaches will develop an action plan and strategies to support implementation of the EETT-C Program at their site
