EETT ARRA Formula Funds to be Released

The CDE has posted the EETT American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Formula awards. The ARRA funds are a one-time source of funds that supplement the $270 million of EETT federal funding made available under the regular appropriation for FY 2009. California’s share of ARRA funds for EETT is over $71 million, 50% as formula and 50% on a competitive basis. Formula funds are available to eligible districts who have a state-approved Technology Plan.

The 6th Annual EdTech Classroom Conference will be held at California State University, San Bernardino on October 23, 2010. The theme of this year’s free conference is Putting the T in STEM. This year's EdTech Conference will GO GREEN and the program will be available online.

2010 RIMS CTAP Summer Roadshow

Registration is open for the the 2010 RIMS CTAP Summer Roadshow events. Participants will join us in hands-on exploration of a variety of technology tools to support student engagement and enhance instruction in your classroom at one of two 2-day events held at the West End Educational Service Center in Rancho Cucamonga and the Riverside County Office of Education. The $40 registration fee allows participants to register for up to four half-day hands-on workshops covering a wide variety of topics for novice and intermediate proficiency technology using educators.

RIMS CTAP Summer 2010 Roadshow Announced

Join us in hands-on exploration of a variety of technology tools to support student engagement and enhance instruction in your classroom. The 2010 RIMS CTAP Summer Roadshow is a  mini-conference, featuring a variety of hands-on sessions for beginning and intermediate proficiency technology using educators. The $40 registration fee allows participants to register for up to four half-day, hands-on workshops covering a wide variety of topics. Registration also includes a flash drive, so participants can save projects and files they work on during the Roadshow.

Odysseyware Bus at SBCSS Support Center on April 29

Starting at 1:00 pm on April 29, the Odysseyware bus will be sharing the latest information about their core and credit recovery options at the San Bernardino County Schools Support Center. Odysseyware curriculum can be licensed at a considerable savings through California Learns, a buying and licensing consortium operated out of CTAP Region 3.

Legislative Analyst's Office Recommends Changes to Use of ARRA Funds

The California Department of Education has read and scored the ARRA EETT competitive applications, but they will be unable to fund them unless they receive legislative approval. Currently, ARRA Formula and Competitive funds are on hold, with the Legislative Analysts Office (LAO) recommending the funds be used for other state-wide data collection efforts.
