Digital Classrooms: Engaging Learning Environments

The RIMS CTAP Digital Classrooms Program supports the effective use of technology tools to improve student engagement and support the adopted curriculum.

Audience

K-12 teachers with access to a computer and digital projector in their classroom.

Outcomes

  • Participants will create an interactive multi-media product using the Interwrite(TM) Pad that can be used immediately in the classroom in conjunction with existing tools at the site.
  • Participants will use research-based strategies to support student engagement and individual learning styles.
  • Participants will identify action steps for utilizing the tools over the course of the year within the adopted curriculum, building meaningful student engagement opportunities into existing lessons.

  • Supports effective use of existing technology at the site.
  • Uses the Interwrite(TM) Pad to explore research-based strategies for increasing student engagement in the curriculum.
  • Participants receive access to an online portal of resources and ongoing "user-group" collaboration opportunities to help support implementation over the school year.

Cost

  • Two days of training, including wireless pad and all materials = $800
  • Two days of training for participants who supply their own wireless pad, including all materials = $250.
