Google Workshops For Educators
GoogleTM Earth: Virtual Voyages, Virtual Field Trips
Virtual Voyages, Virtual Field Trips combines the resources of GoogleTM Earth, the Internet, and adopted materials to create GoogleTM Earth Lit Trips to help support student understanding of standards-based concepts. Using Google Earth as the basis of the project, participants will learn how to place markers on sites associated to a standards based concept, and then expand the map markers to include text, video, and audio extensions to enhance student learning.
While the agendas of the workshops are the same, elementary focused workshops feature examples most suited to students in grades 1-6, while secondary focused workshops showcase more complex examples appropriate for students in grades 6-12.
Registration for Fall/Winter 2008 workshops will be available by August 1. Check back to register!
GoogleTM Tools for Educators
From sharing documents and spreadsheets to facilitate student collaboration and peer editing, to creating a custom search engine that guides students to quality resources, this workshop will explore many Google tools that can be used to support teaching and learning.
