Marzano Strategies Integrated with Technology
Registration for Fall/Winter 2008 workshops will be available by August 1. Check back to register!
Research has identified nine categories of learning strategies as being the most effective ways to increase student achievement. Technology can be an important part of the learning process.
In this workshop, participants will learn how technology can help implement these strategies. They will learn to use Inspiration® software to help students improve their learning. Participants will explore how graphic organizers can help students understand and diagram similarities and differences and begin to recognize relationships between information pieces they are studying.
Each participant will receive a flash drive of resources and a copy of Inspiration® so they can have ready access to the tools used in the session. In addition, each participant will receive a copy of Classroom Instruction That Works: Research-Based Strategies for Increasing Student Achievement.
Outcomes:
• Participants will come away with a basic understanding of the nine Marzano strategies.
• Participants will see how technology can help in the implementation of the strategies.
• Participants will be able to use strategies immediately with the help of the resources on the flash drive
This workshop will look at the nine research-based learning strategies identified by Robert Marzano in Classroom Instruction that Works: Research-based Strategies for Increasing Student Achievement.
