Marzano Strategies Integrated with Technology
This workshop explores the nine research-based learning strategies identified by Robert Marzano in Classroom Instruction that Works: Research-based Strategies for Increasing Student Achievement. These strategies have been identified as being the most effective ways to increase student achievement. Participants will use Inspiration® software to show how graphic organizers can help students understand and diagram similarities and differences and begin to recognize relationships between information pieces they are studying.

Google Earth - Virtual Voyages and Virtual Field Trips
In this workshop, participants will explore and create virtual field trips using Google Earth and online resources. Combining the resources of Google Earth, the Internet, and adopted materials, participants will create a Google Earth Lit Trip to help students understand the movement and geography of literature or events. Participants will learn how to place markers on sites associated to a standards based concept, and then expand the map markers to include text, video, and audio extensions to enhance student learning.

Digital Classrooms – Engaging Learning Environments
Learn to use the Interwrite™ Pad to support effective instructional delivery and student engagement. This workshop will focus on a variety of research-based strategies using a classroom projector and the Interwrite™ Pad to engage students with different learning styles and academic needs. Participants should bring a Teacher’s Edition and CD resources (if available) so that they can create instructional products during the course of the training that will be immediately applicable in their own classroom.

Podcasting for K-12 Educators
Learn how to incorporate podcasts into your curriculum to increase student engagement. Participants will explore the different types of podcasts and how they may be used to support the curriculum. By using a computer and microphone, participants will create and publish a podcast for enhancing a lesson.

PowerPoint in the Digital Classroom
PowerPoint® in the Digital Classroom is designed for learners new to using presentation tools in their classrooms to enhance teaching and promote learning. Participants will discover how to design and deliver effective presentations that engage students as they create a product that can be used immediately in the classroom. PowerPoint® skills such as non-linear linking, animations, and embedding media to support student learning will be taught as part of the class.
