EETT-Competitive Round 7 Call for Readers

The California Department of Education is calling for applications for a position on the EETT-C Round 7 grant review panel. Grant reviewers’ travel expenses are covered by the CDE. Districts who have applied for the EETT-C grant in Round 7, or who would like to apply for EETT-C funding in the future are strongly encouraged to apply to read competitive applications this year, as being a grant reader can be an excellent learning experience to prepare for future grant writing.

The EETT-C Round 7 Readers' Conference will be held on May 20-22, 2008 at the Holiday Inn North East I-80 in Sacramento. The CDE is expecting applications from up to 150 school districts and direct funded charters around the state and may need up to 50 grant readers. Readers do not need previous grant review experience. The ETO will provide reader training on the first 1/2 day, May 20, from 1-5 p.m., including an in-depth introduction to the rubric used to judge the proposals. In addition, reader teams will score an application together to calibrate the scoring process. Grant reviews will follow all day on May 21 and 22. Interested candidates must commit to attend all 2 1/2 days of the Readers' Conference.

Applications to be a member of the Round 7 EETT-C grant review panel can be downloaded from the CDE. Reader applications are due to the CDE by April 23, 2008.
