EETT ARRA Formula Funds to be Released
The CDE has posted the EETT American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Formula awards. The ARRA funds are a one-time source of funds that supplement the $270 million of EETT made available under the regular appropriation for FY 2009. California’s share of ARRA funds for EETT is over $71 million, 50% as formula and 50% on a competitive basis. Formula funds are available to eligible districts who have a state-approved Technology Plan.
Funding letters are expected to be sent to eligible LEA's at the end of July 2010. A complete list of awardees, including funding amounts can be found here. The payment method for the EETT formula grant will be on a reimbursement basis. EETT ARRA funds will be paid upon the filing of an End Of Period (EOP) Expenditure Report which can be filed with the CDE once grant funds have been fully expended. The award period for EETT ARRA funds will cover the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 school years, so reimbursement for last fiscal year's purchases can by submitted immediately.
With the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, EETT funding may be phased out. Districts and Charter schools may want to plan as if this ARRA Formula funding will be the only Educational Technology funding available for the 2010-2011 school year.
