CDE Releases New Online Learning Resource
State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson has announced a new CDE website called the Online Education Index. This website includes an interactive California map of online schools and programs, designed to help parents, educators and community make more informed decisions about online educational options throughout the state. The Online Schools and Programs Directory is searchable by county, and provides a list of online programs with a description of grades served, accreditation, "A-G" subject approval, and curriculum offered.
Brokers of Expertise workshops in San Bernardino County
Last fall, the California Department of Education launched the Brokers of Expertise (BoE: http://www.myboe.org <http://www.myboe.org/> ) project which is designed to provide California educators with access to FREE resources (such as lesson plans, video clips, assessments, and more) and a community of other educators with whom they can network and collaborate.
RIMS CTAP is pleased to announce four FREE Brokers of Expertise workshops in San Bernardino County, scheduled for June 2 and June 3, 2011.
Input Needed for Digital Textbook Initiative
The California Learning Resource Network (CLRN) is conducting a survey of the Free Digital Textbook Initiative to discover awareness among educators, to find out whether educators plan to implement any of the books, and to inquire about the need for additional courses. Your completion of this survey will help to determine the value and make improvements in the digital textbook initiative. In addition, two survey participants will win an iPod Nano!
Diverse Learners Symposium at CUE 2010
The Special Education Teacher Technology Specialists (SETTS) program is partnering with CUE 2010 to host the Diverse Learners Symposium, to be held March 5-6, 2010 in Palm Springs. The Assistive Technology Symposium will have its own venue at the Hilton Hotel, one block from the main CUE conference center.
